LOTD: Smokin' in the City

Another simple, quick look from me. I can't seem to drag myself out of bed in time to do something more creative and still make it to work on time!

LOTD: Fairy Greens

I've not really used my Aromaleigh Lost in Faerie samples over the summer, which is a shame because they're gorgeous. I was having a green day today so I dug them out and picked out the gorgeous greens in the collection.

LOTD: Holiday looks part 2

First, apologies to anyone who commented in the past few days. I did reply but then managed, almost immediately, to delete all the comments for the past few weeks thus proving, yet again, that I can't really be trusted with technology and will sometimes press buttons when I really shouldn't.

Now, onto the last of my holiday looks. They're both quite yellow; it must have be the (lack of) sunshine in Kent.

LOTD: Holiday looks

I was obviously in a purple and yellow mood when I was on holiday; I did two yellow looks and two purple looks. I've decided to group them together and today I'm posting the purple looks. Fewer photos that usual (and even worse than they normally are) because I was, without fail, always the last one ready and hurrying to get out of the door.

The first look is purpley-taupe.

LOTD: Platinum Ghost

I decided I wanted to do a sparkly eye today. Platinum and Phantasm are two of the sparkliest colours I have so I decided to combine them.

LOTD: Ogre Princess

I finally managed to see Shrek Forever After at the cinema today so I decided to do a smoky green an orange look in honour of Princess Fiona.

LOTD: Electric Kick

I didn't do my makeup today until quite late, when I know I wouldn't be going out again, so I decided to try one of the Morgana Minerals lip colours that I don't have the chance to wear in my everyday life.

LOTD: Sundown

A few days ago I saw an amazing sunset eye on Scrangie's blog. Partly inspired by that and partly prompted by the fact it's chucking down with rain here for the first time in about a month (contrary, I know) I decided to have a go at my own sunset eye. It didn't really work out like I wanted it to but I'm posting it anyway.

LOTD: Very Violet

A while ago I placed an order with Morgana Minerals. I mostly wanted to get some lipstick samples but to get my order value up to the minimum I also picked a couple of eyeshadow samples. When they arrived I though they looked pretty and then put them aside. I've finally got round to using one of the colours and I'm impressed, I'll have to add Morgana Minerals to the ever growing list of places I want to buy stuff from.

LOTD: Jiminy

It's been almost a week since I posted anything, partly because I've been busy and partly because my camera had a hissy-fit and refused to switch on. It finally seems to be working so I decided to celebrate by doing a look with Aromaleigh's Cricket. I don't use it that much but it's one of my favourite colours; it's the exact same shade of green as the pair of shoes I bought to celebrate finishing my degree.

LOTD: Mellow Yellow

I had a bit of a crappy day on Monday and my so my lovely friend Sara gave me the flower she'd been wearing in her hair to cheer me up. It survived pretty well overnight so yesterday I decided to wear it and do a happy yellow eye to go with it.

LOTD: Leopard-Print Dress

I love this look using Fyrinnae shadows. I even got a compliment on it from a woman at my local salon. Unfortunately, I was trying to take the pictures in my mum's house in the five minutes before I had to run out of the door and they didn't turn out particularly well but I'm still going to post it.

LOTD: Pink Petals

Every so often, two things happen. One is that I forget that my skills with eyeliner are, at best, limited. The other thing is that I have the urge to do some variation on the classic matte red lips-light shadow-black eyeliner combination. On this particular occasion there was also a third factor in my decision to try this look; I have an interview tomorrow and wanted to see if I could manage 'polished and elegant' rather than 'clown let loose with felt-tip pens'.

LOTD: Isadora Lost

I decided I wanted to focus on a single colour on my eyes today. Fortunately, I was spared from having to decide which colour to focus on when I realised that one of my few clean work tops was pink. It also gave me a chance to try out some more of the lovely Aromaleigh Lost in Faerie colours. Also, I wish I could say that the variety of that lighting in these photographs was deliberate but it's really just because I can't use my camera properly.

LOTD: Going for Gold

Today I decided to stick to one colour and, influenced by the unusually hot (so, so hot) weather we've been having, dig out some of my underused metallic colours. I always tend to think of gold and similar colours as quite plain and usually only use them combined with something else but this look reminded me that they're actually really pretty on their own.

LOTD: Leopards, Toucans and Doves, oh my!

Technically, this is my look of yesterday. I had the great pleasure of going to the wedding of two friends and a lovely time was had by all.

LOTD:Sonic Pajamas

When I first started really getting into mineral make-up I was a bit dismayed to see how many of the shades were shimmery (that dismay didn't last long; I soon learnt to love glitter). When I came across the Aromaleigh Retro Hi-Fi collection I was thrilled - bright, beautiful colours but with a matte finish. As soon as I got my hands on a sample set, Cat's Pajamas became a firm favourite. I love corals and this one is close to perfect. I bought a couple of matte shades from the Sonic Rocks collection with this colour combination in mind and this is one of my standard looks for when I want lots of colour but no shimmer.

LOTD: Sorrow in Faerie

My first look of the day is a bit of an unusual one for me. I don't tend to use pale greens like Elodie from Aromaleigh's Lost in Faerie is such a lovely colour that I wanted to use it as the basis for a look. Unfortunately, my photography skills still leave a lot to be desired but this is the best of the bunch.
