LOTD: Sacred Dance

I wanted to try out some of the gorgeous new Fyrinnae shadows I brought recently and this is what I came up with. 

Swatches: Fyrinnae

Fyrinnae's shadows are always gorgeous, so I was really please when their newest collection, Dia De Los Muertos, was released. I picked up some of the new colours as well as a couple that I'd been meaning to try for a while.

LOTD: Tricolore

My posting has been a bit erratic lately with various holidays and work trips. Hopefully it will calm down now and I'll be able to get back to more frequent posts. 


My latest overseas excursion was to Strasbourg for work so I decided to do a tricolore inspired look but with different colours rather than the traditional red, white and blue. A few of the colours are ones I use a lot, I love them but I'm going to try and give them a break for a while and try some new stuff. If anyone has any colour suggestions let me know!

LOTD: Out in the rain

Another look using my Persephone Minerals samples. I wanted to do something nice and simple that I could use for work on days when I have meetings and other important things.

LOTD: Hippy Peacock

This is the first look I did with my Persephone eyeshadows. I found them easy to apply and easy to blend. Far Out, in particular, applied like a dream.

Roses and Sugar Violets

So it turns out that I only did my makeup twice in the week I was on holiday and because I'm still trying to learn how to use my camera the pictures were a bit hit and miss. The only look I have semi-decent pictures for is this one, using a mix of Fyrinnae and Morgana products. I hadn't used any of my Morgana stuff for a while and this reminded me how great it is. I'm now very excited for the store reopening, especially after seeing the lipstick previews on Twitter. 

LOTD: Týr and the Changeling

I wanted to try a smoky eye toady, seeing as I din't have to be in work and so it didn't matter if it went wrong. I've also been wanting to use Changeling, the free sample I got with my last Fyrinnae order, ever since I swatched it. 

LOTD: Nearly Nude

As much as I love playing with bright, colourful makeup, sometimes I need a simple look I can do in no time at all. I had one of those times today when I realised, as I was getting ready, that I should have left my flat about 10 minutes earlier.

LOTD: Daemon Rose

I left work a bit later than usual yesterday, so I had my first walk home in the dark since the spring. Crossing the Thames and seeing all the lights along the river always feels very autumnal to me and the colours I picked for today's makeup were also quite autumnal. 

LOTD: Immortal Stardust

I've been meaning to post for several days now but have been slightly scuppered by the fact I've been trying to use my new Fyrinnae shadows. Immortality and Delvian, in particular, are gorgeous but need more careful application than my normal 'slap it on and see' approach. I decided to use Immortality again today. As well as trying to be more precise with my application, I decided to follow the example of several makeup bloggers and apply my eyeshadow before the rest of my makeup. It worked really well in terms of making it easier to clean up the look but I couldn't believe how much difference putting some blusher on made to the overall look.

I'm a bit behind on posting and reading blogs - I was in Canterbury for a couple of days and then I got food poisoning :( I'm still a feeling a bit uninspired makeup wise but my latest Fyrinnae order arrived today so I decided to swatch that.

LOTD: Twinkle, twinkle little skull

Every time I see an EOTD from Fashionedinfinland I think how nice the colour placement she uses is. I decided to try it out myself today and even without her blending skills I think it worked quite well. I also decided to use Sugar Skulls again because I don't think the last look I did showed it off properly.

LOTD: Rapunzel's Roses

My Fyrinnae order arrived a couple of days ago and I was excited (above and beyond normal new makeup excitement) because it contained a full size of Rapunzel Had Extensions.  I've seen a few people do looks using this colour and it always looks really pretty but it's even prettier in real life. I also got a full size of Painted Roses and a sample of Velvet Vampire so I decided to try them all out together for my look today.

LOTD: Holiday looks part 2

First, apologies to anyone who commented in the past few days. I did reply but then managed, almost immediately, to delete all the comments for the past few weeks thus proving, yet again, that I can't really be trusted with technology and will sometimes press buttons when I really shouldn't. 


Now, onto the last of my holiday looks. They're both quite yellow; it must have be the (lack of) sunshine in Kent.

LOTD: Holiday looks

I was obviously in a purple and yellow mood when I was on holiday; I did two yellow looks and two purple looks. I've decided to group them together and today I'm posting the purple looks. Fewer photos that usual (and even worse than they normally are) because I was, without fail, always the last one ready and hurrying to get out of the door. 

The first look is purpley-taupe.

LOTD: Greenmen in the Rainforest

I've been enjoying a lovely week in Kent with my mum, nana and aunt so I haven't been posting. I have been playing around with my makeup, though, so I have a backlog of looks to post. The first one was my second attempt to use Adam and Steve's. It still doesn't capture how vibrant and pretty the colour is but it comes closer than my last attempt. 

LOTD: Platinum Ghost

I decided I wanted to do a sparkly eye today. Platinum and Phantasm are two of the sparkliest colours I have so I decided to combine them. 

LOTD: Ogre Princess

I finally managed to see Shrek Forever After at the cinema today so I decided to do a smoky green an orange look in honour of Princess Fiona.

LOTD: Electric Kick

I didn't do my makeup today until quite late, when I know I wouldn't be going out again, so I decided to try one of the Morgana Minerals lip colours that I don't have the chance to wear in my everyday life. 

LOTD: Sundown

A few days ago I saw an amazing sunset eye on Scrangie's blog. Partly inspired by that and partly prompted by the fact it's chucking down with rain here for the first time in about a month (contrary, I know) I decided to have a go at my own sunset eye. It didn't really work out like I wanted it to but I'm posting it anyway.
